I am trying to trace John M. Nisbet b Nov 1942 in Wimbledon, London, England.
His father's name was Brian Callaway Nisbet (Profession: Electrical Engineer) and mother Diana (nee Harding). John is the grandson of Col. Colin Harding (one time of Barotseland/NW Rhodesia, and then Gold Coast/Ghana).

The UK Electoral Register does not show him so suggesting he either left the UK or was passed on.

He has no known maternal cousins, his mother being an only child.

I am researching this for a UK Registered Charity (No. 1101654) Monze Education Fund (for school and orphaned pupils in Monze, Zambia. Col. Harding established a police Fort at Monze in 1900.
PS Great web site - nice to see the activity !

My da told me that my great grandfather came through Canada as mounted police. They eventually came to michigan. My grand da married Carolyn Heacock and had my da and uncle steven nesbitt. Then he remarried Paulette ?? and had three girls and my uncle chris nesbitt. If this helps anyone at all let me know. My e-mail is posted. I am sorry to say that I don't know much further back.

Has anyone found any trace of a James Stewart Nisbet born Stromness 1870 and believed to have lived in NSW between then and 1899 before moving to Qld. I can find no reference to him so far. Help would be appreciated

I would like to trace descendents of Florence Gordon Nisbet (Stromness 1872) or Harriet Steven Nisbet (Edinburgh 1880). They are sister and half sister of my Grandfather, James Stewart Nisbet (Stromness 1870) who came to Australia about 1877.

Yes - William JC Humbley & nes Nisbet are my g or gg grandparents.
My father was Hector Mc. Donald Humbley. His father was a William (Sydney?) Humbley - I think the son, but maybe the grandson of these people.
I could point you to those that know more if that is what you seek.
