Attention Nesbitts all over the world!
My Grandmother brought me up after my mother died, and she fascinated me with stories of her family, The Nesbitts. My great Grandfather was Harry Frank Nesbitt, born in 1853 in London, and his parents were Anthony Charles and Mary Anne. Apparantly they were both Nesbitt, as they were first cousins. His brother was also Anthony, but he died in London without marrying, or children. Harry Frank and his brother Anthony were both baptised in London. Harry Frank was a Ships Captain, and came to Australia, and gave up the sea to marry Catherine Moy, an Irish girl, in Newcastle in January 1878. They had 12 children, 6 boys and 6 girls. My Grandmother, Edith, was the 5th girl, and 11th child.   Now, with all that information, you would imagine that I would have no problem tracing my Nesbitt Family, but no, it seems that my Great Great Grandparents, Anthony, and Mary Anne Nesbitt, like Topsy, just grew! Can find no further back than them. And, apart from the descendants of 2 of my Great Aunts, none of the sons of Harry Frank Nesbitt, and Catherine, carried on the line, and just disappeared, although my Grandmother said that one of her brothers had twins.
Can anyone help me in my search????

Samuel Nesbitt was born in Belfast. He served with the Military in the Russian armoured car unit in 1918 . In July 1936 he and his family lived at Victoria Avenue, Newtownards.
His son William came to Australia about 1920 and I would love to hear from anyone who knew this family or my Father-in-law in Australia.
