Am seeking assistance from anyone who may have details of the passenger list of the Echunga which arrived in Victoria in 1857 with my ancestor Ann Nisbet aboard (info from Pippa Letch). I am looking for a James Wright who may have also been aboard, he is her future husband. Thanks.

Hello Aussies!! Had a lucky find here in the USA. Old Nesbitt's Orange Soda bottles and a few caps. I'm going to auction them on ebay with proceeds going to the Nisbet/Nesbit Society of North America. Send me an E if you're interested, I'll email a picture. I plan the auction in a few weeks. Hi, just trying to get hold of my Grandfathers birth certificate and came across this site. If it helps anyone with their family research his name was David Nisbet born Shetland, Scotland in 1903 and moved to Australia in his early 20's and married Olga Donald. They had 3 children, Donald (my father), Colin and Marie. If you would like any further info please email me.

Just browsing through the Nesbit site. It caught my eye as I have a cousin who has a farm at Edrom, Berwickshire which is next to the Edrom Church. If anyone wants me to look through the churchyard for any Nesbit graves let me know and I will do it next time I visit Edrom.

Hi! I have just applied to join. I have only just started researching my Nisbits so info is still basic at this early stage.

My Nisbit ancestor is Ann Wright (nee Nisbit/Nesbitt etc.). From her death entry in Vic Death index, her year of birth is abt. 1840. Ann's parents are Jno. Nisbit and Isabella Nichol. Family story has it that Ann (who married James Wright) met James on ship out to Australia in abt. 1859. First child Isabella born in Ballarat, Victoria January 1860. Ann is from "near Edinburgh".

Hope to hear from some other NIsbit descendants.

My great grandfather Mark Nesbitt arrived in Australia with his parents Joseph & Elizabeth about 1860, does anyone have any idea from where they came? or which ship? This is a great site and I hope to get to some of the society's functions soon.
